Make Waves @ Your Library: Summer Reading Reviews

Here are two fantastic books, reviewed by Coventry Teens, that you might also want to read:

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

                                             A Review by Patrick Favre

When I first looked at this book I was not sure I would like it, but I was soon hooked to it. It tells the story of and Indian determined to go to a white school. When he does, his life starts changing in ways he never expected. Enjoy this story of survival through a boy just trying to be who he is.
I liked this book because it was not afraid to hold back on some subjects.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

                                        A Review by Alex O’Neil

In the nation of Panem, new North America, is a powerful Capitol surrounded by 12 unique districts. But the Capitol is cruel. Every year, each district must send 1 12-18 year old boy and girl to a televised fight to the death. When Katniss’s sister is called to fight, Katniss decides to volunteer to take her sister’s place. Little does she realize she is in way over her head. Read the book to see if Katniss can survive in the largest challenge of her life.

Hi Everyone!
I’m the new Head of Teen Services at the Booth and Dimock Memorial Library. My name is Kristi Sadowski and I am very excited to be in Coventry and am looking forward to meeting everyone. Stop by to say “Hello,” next time you are at the library.

Also, if you’re heading to the Captain Nathan Hale Middle School in the Fall and haven’t read your Nutmeg Book, consider coming to the library to join us in reading The London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd where you can…

Finish One of Your Summer Reading Books in One Day!

The event will take place on August 19, 2010 starting at 10:30. It should take around 6 hours to read the book and lunch will be provided. Please call the library at 860-742-7606 to register.
