Teen Book Review - Fire and Ash

After a hard  battle with the Reaper, the group of Benny Imura, Nix Riley, Riot, and Lilah, the lost girl, are stationed at Sanctuary. All is not how it seems; however, with the research gathered from a plane crash, scientist could make a stabilizer, but not a cure. They appear to be missing some notes, Benny takes a quad out to the plane, which is against the rules to look around for anything important. Finding nothing he begins to head back to his quad. Suddenly, a Reaper comes racing out of the woods and attacks Benny! They have a brutal fight until Benny finally delivers the fatal blow. As Benny searches the Reaper's belonging, he finds a team book that belonged to the plane crew. Intrigued, he races back to sanctuary, could this help them find the last bit of research? Could this be the key to the cure? Read Fire and Ash to find out!

The book still had the suspense with the perfect amount of action that I love. I would read about 50 pages at a time, I was just that hooked. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because it lacked the amount of thrust that all the other books had for me. If another book in the series came out I would read it, no doubt. I'm still wondering what becomes of the gang.

Teen Book Review - To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird is a story based on a court case between an African American man and a caucasian woman. The man is accused of a terrible crime and a brace citizen decides to help him and do the right thing. That citizens name is Atticus. Along his journey to help this man, he teaches his children, Jem and Scout, valuable lessons. Jem and Scout learn about standing up for what you believe in, and not to listen to what others think about you. This book truly teachers a lot of life lessons.

I rated this book a 3 (out of 5) because I wasn't very intrigued until the end of the book. I felt that in the beginning it wasn't very captivating for a young reader. There wasn't much action until the actual court case. I also felt like the court case was dragged on too long. Overall, I learned a lot from the book, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have wished for.
