Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month

Even though March is almost over, there is still plenty of time to celebrate.

The Teen Zone is showcasing (in our clear plastic display) Teenage Girls who Rock. This collection of fiction showcases girls who may play sports, fight evil or  just go to high school, but their stories are worth reading.

Visit iconn.org for great resources on famous women in history or check out their e-book collection which includes Women in World History: A Biographical Encyclopedia

And, don't forget about the resources we have here at the library. Just stop by the Teen Services/ Reference Desk and  we'll help you find what you need.

Jump by Elisa Carbone

Critter isn't insane.
P.K. doesn't want to go to boarding school.
Both need to escape their lives.

When P.K. decides to run away, out west, to go rock climbing, Critter, who has just escaped from the hospital, tags along. With the cops looking for them both, this book is an adventure from begining to end.

Teen Tech Week Crafts

Teen Tech Week may have come and gone, but that doesn't mean you need to stop celebrating technology.

Last week, after scrapping our Charger Caddy Craft*, we grabbed some bubble wrap, duct tape, puffy glitter paint and made cases for our phones, Nintendo DS and MP3 players.

It was an extremely easy craft and in addition to being super easy and durable, its completely unique.

Another great Tech Craft idea is this E-Reader Cover.

Made out of a re-purposed book, this is a great clashing of cultures. Find out how to make the project from WonderHowTo, here

*The Cell Charger Craft can be found here at Unplggd, it is made out of a shampoo bottle and keeps your phone hanging out on the wall instead of the floor. We decided not to do this craft at the Booth & Dimock Library because if you use the wrong kind of plastic, it can melt and be dangerous. So, if you decide to do this craft, keep that in mind and Do Your Research!

Have you made any of these projects? Or do you have another great Tech Craft Idea? Let us know!
